A phrase you can type, with randomness you can explain.

Choose a word count and separator. Each word is selected independently from a 2,048-word English vocabulary using secure browser randomness.

Build a passphrase

Eight independent words represent approximately 88 bits of selection entropy before implementation-specific considerations.

Readable does not mean predictable

The passphrase tool makes independent uniform word selections from the published English BIP-39 vocabulary. It supports 6–16 words and user-selected separators. This improves typing and recall compared with a random string, while leaving the phrase unique and difficult to guess.

  • Eight words: approximately 88 bits from 2,048 equally likely choices per word
  • Ten words: approximately 110 bits under the same model
  • Repeated words are possible and do not indicate a bug

Not a wallet seed

This feature creates a human-entered random-word passphrase. It does not calculate BIP-39 checksum bits, derive a wallet seed, create an address or generate a blockchain keypair. Never import its output into a wallet expecting a valid recovery mnemonic.

  • Wallet setup should use wallet software or a hardware signer that implements the required standard
  • Write down wallet recovery material exactly as that wallet instructs
  • Never send a wallet seed to Nuvquerio or any web form

A practical choice

Use longer phrases when memorability matters and the receiving system accepts spaces or separators. Use the password generator when the service enforces a character policy. The app reports a theoretical estimate; it does not assess a target service's rate limits, breach history or account recovery controls.

  • Check destination length and character restrictions
  • Do not reuse the same phrase across services
  • Store any saved result only in a vault whose passphrase you can preserve

The small piece of mathematics

A 2,048-word list has 2¹¹ possible choices. If each of n selections is independent and uniform, the idealized phrase space has 2^(11n) combinations, yielding 11n bits of selection entropy. That calculation depends on the implementation truly choosing independently; it is not a guarantee about how a phrase is later used or protected.

  • Six words: 66 bits under this model
  • Eight words: 88 bits under this model
  • Repeated words are allowed because selection is with replacement

Typing, recall and threat model

A phrase trades compactness for a sequence a person can read and type. More words increase the search space, but length can create friction in systems with short field limits or poor mobile input. If the destination supports password-manager autofill, a random character string may be easier to use safely than memorizing any phrase.

  • Do not substitute personal quotations, song lines or familiar sayings
  • Use a separator accepted by the destination
  • Keep the phrase unique even when it is memorable

Word list provenance and limits

The vocabulary is based on the public English BIP-39 word list, selected as a convenient fixed list—not as a BIP-39 encoding procedure. Nuvquerio does not calculate the standard's checksum or convert entropy into a wallet seed. A shared vocabulary does not make two outputs related; each position is selected independently by the browser's random source.

  • Never restore a wallet with a Nuvquerio passphrase
  • Use the wallet's official recovery flow for wallet material
  • The linked standard is a word list reference, not an endorsement of this generator
